When setup properly a boost bottle will give you improved performance at lower revs and when coming on and off the throttle. Many people also use them additionally as a visual styling part.

It connects into your vacuum pipe with a Y shape connector:

You need to cut the vacuum hose in half and push the Y connector onto it to re join them. Then the third inlet on the connector joins to the boost bottle with a small piece of hose.
