In 2000 the Aprilia SR50 was introduced using a 50cc liquid cooled 2-stroke engine produced by Moto Morini.
The SR50 features 13 inch wheels in conjunction with front and rear hydraulic disc brakes. In 2003 Aprilia ceased production of the SR50 using a Morini engine in favour of Piaggio's HI-PER2 engine.
