The Jog features a 50cc horizontal 2-stroke engine produced by Motori Minarelli. The Jog R uses an air-cooled version of the horizontal Minarelli engine. The Jog RR uses a liquid-cooled version of the horizontal Minarelli engine. The Yamaha Jog features 12 inch aluminium 6-spoke wheels in conjunction with a front hydraulic Brembo disc brake and rear cable-operated drum brake. The design of the Jog RR has not changed since its introduction in 2002 and is still sold today in the UK. Sale of the air-cooled Jog R in the UK ceased in 2012.
