The Piaggio Typhoon was introduced in 1993.
The Piaggio Typhoon was originally produced with a 2-stroke air-cooled 50cc, 80cc or 125cc Piaggio engine. The Piaggio Typhoon with its 10 inch wheels along with chunky tyres and solid build quality was intended to be able to cope with rougher terrain, putting Yamaha's BWS, Gilera's Stalker and Peugeot's Trekker (TKR) directly in the Typhoon's path. Production of the Typhoon with an 80cc engine was ceased in 1997 and production of the 2-stroke 125cc Typhoon ceased in 2004. 2011 saw a completely redesigned Typhoon and production of the now "old shape" Typhoon ceased.
