Aprilia introduced the Rotax 123 engine in 1990 with the enduro style RX.
In 1992 the GP style RS125 was introduced with a Rotax 123 engine as a replacement for the Futura. Since 1994 Aprilia started using the Rotax 122 engine, these engines are much the same although the 122 only used a Dellorto PHBH 28mm carburettor. The RS125 was produced until 2011 when a 4-stroke version was introduced.
