Yamaha have been producing the Neos (YN) since 1997.
The Yamaha Neos has been produced with a 50cc and 100cc horizontal engine produced by Motori Minarelli. 100cc versions use a 2-stroke air-cooled engine the same as used in the Aerox 100cc. Production of the 100cc Neos ceased in 2004. 50cc versions of the Neos use a 2-stroke air-cooled engine. In 2008 the Neos was redesigned and the now old shape Neos was discontinued. The new shape Neos has a new chassis design, restyled body work and digital clocks unit. 2009 saw the introduction of a Neos with a 4-stroke 50cc liquid-cooled fuel injected engine.
