In 1946 the Vespa was introduced into the market.
The first model introduced was the Vespa 98. In 1948 a 125cc Vespa was introduced. These early models have become to be known as wideframe or widemount Vespas due to their wide engine mount. Early wideframe models had a headlight mounted on the front mudguard. Later models were introduced with 150cc engines and the headlight was mounted on the handlebars. In 1957 the Vespa 125cc VNA was introduced which started what has become to be known as the largeframe series.
