The included plate protects the cable from the screw, ensuring the screw is just clamping the cable and not sheering it off. The nipple has been turned down to meet exact dimensions, ensuring a perfect fitment and these nipples have a hex on the nipple and the screw, giving you the ability to securely hold the nipple and tighten the screw without twisting the cable.

The cable nipple has been designed to fit under the gear selector cover without obstruction.
