In scooter racing, mechanical water pumps often get replaced with electrical models to reduce the rotating mass at the crankshaft, which results in better throttle response and a slight increase in performance. Another situation where electrical water pumps come in handy is when cylinders in air-cooled engines are replaced with liquid-cooled cylinders. Instead of installing a mechanical pump, you can go for the electrical model right away. Motoforce Racing offers you the perfect water pump for these situations.
We also sometimes use these when the waterpump fails on Piaggio LC engines. You can replace the seals, bearings and shaft on a Piaggio LC engine without dismantling the engine, but if the impeller breaks you need to remove and completely dismantle the engine. If this is the only problem with the engine you can simply fit a new seal (if necessary) and an electric pump.

Current draw 0.6amp.
Flow rate: 8.5-9 l/min.
You would need to replace the old seal anyway otherwise it will still leak- the only time swapping for an electric pump would work on it's own is where the old impeller is broken e.g. 'freewheeling' on the shaft and not pumping but the seal is *not* leaking.
