Standard cast iron air cooled cylinder kit for all Piaggio/ Gilera 50cc air cooled engines.

Suitable for use with your original cylinder head.

Included: cylinder, piston, rings, gudgeon pin, cirlclips & base gasket.

Your old cylinder head may be reused or a new one can be found here.

Q. What way round the rings go? I know; silver on top, black on bottom but how do I know if the rings are upside down or not?
A.
You are correct, the silver ring goes on the top, black on the bottom. The end of the piston rings are tappered one way up so that it will only fit over the locating pins in the piston one way, allowing the rings to fully sit in their groove.
Q. The kit is not supplied with a head gasket, what head gasket should I use?
A.
The original Piaggio air-cooled cylinders do not use a head gasket, they use a smear of high temperature sealant, we would not recommend to use a head gasket because this would change the compression ratio.
