Got a question about Reed Valve (Metal Block)- Piaggio 2-Stroke?

There is a small metal plate running horizontally about half way up the square inlet port on the carb side. It is not on my old reed block. Should this be removed before installation?

It is to help the flow of gas, you can keep it in or remove it.
